B vs B+

MAINFRAME-B comes in two variants:

  • B: USB-MIDI via a USB-C to USB-A cable, to plug in directly to your computer, phone or tablet.
  • B+: USB-MIDI and also 5-pin MIDI via a 3.5mm TRS Type A jack.

Throughout the docs, both variants are referred to as "B" unless the distinction matters.

Which should you purchase?

Both variants use the same engine version, have the same UI and basically identical functionally. Therefore, if you only ever intend to connect your MAINFRAME-B to a computer, phone or tablet then the USB-only B variant will be fine. If you are DAW-less then B+ will be necessary.

For more versatility, optionality and potential for chaining and other possibilities, consider B+.
