Digital Piano Setup
Basic Connection
- Connect your piano to MAINFRAME-B:
- If your piano has 5-pin MIDI Out, connect it to MAINFRAME-B+ MIDI In.
- If your piano only has USB-B, route it through a computer or a USB MIDI host to MAINFRAME-B.
- Power MAINFRAME-B and confirm the status LEDs are on.
- Play a few notes and confirm that a zone LED blinks on note-on.
MIDI Channel
- MAINFRAME-B defaults:
- Channel 1 -> Zone 1
- Channel 2 -> Zone 2
- Channel 3 -> Zone 3
- Set your piano’s MIDI Out channel to the zone you want to control.
Expressive Control Tips
- Velocity gives you immediate dynamics in brightness or intensity.
- Sustain pedal can be mapped to modulation or decay, depending on your setup.
Common Checks
- If there are no lights, try Animation Mode #1 (Full strip) to force LED output.
- Confirm Global Config brightness and LED count are not zero.
