Focus vs. Ambiance

Focus vs. Ambiance

There are two primary ways to use MAINFRAME-B: as a focal element or as ambient lighting.

Focus

Use MAINFRAME-B as a focal element by:

  • Using grids, rings, or christmas lights
  • Facing LEDs toward the audience
  • Reducing brightness to avoid blinding output
  • Experimenting with layered zones and random modulation

Ambiance

Create room-filling light by:

  • Using LED strips or reflective surfaces
  • Facing LEDs toward a wall or diffuser
  • Maximizing global brightness and tuning zone brightness to blend
  • Using longer notes and sweeping patterns
